Johnathan Jackson Clemans and Mary Ellen Martin were my GG Grandparents. I am researching this family line. Johnathan went by his middle name, Jackson, during part of his life. One of his children was named Edward Randolph Clemans, my G Grandfather. One of his sons, James Harvey Clemens, was my Grandfather. Some family members spelled their last name with an 'a' while others spelled it with an 'e'. My Grandmother, Nora Hester (Thompson) Clemens always told that we were related to Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain), but never was specific about the connection. I am still looking for the connection.
