It is my understanding that John Marshall Clemens died in Hannibal, Marion, MO. 24 Mar 1847. Jane Clemens is listed with their' children in the 1850 census Hannibal, MO. She and Samuel are listed in the 1860 census St. Louis, MO. living with son-in-law W.A. Moffett and daughter Annie(Pamela Ann). I could not find her in the 1870 census. In the 1880 census Fredonia, Chautauqua, N.Y., Jane is living with widowed daughter Pamela Moffett, and granddaughter Annie and her husband Charles Webster. The 1890 census is a fragment due to a fire in Washington and is not available. Jane Clemens died 27 Oct 1890 Keobuk, IA. Samuel (Mark Twain) is found in the 1900 census Hartford Co., CT. and in the 1910 census Redding Twp., Fairfield, CT. The date of the enumeration being 22 Apr 1910 may be off by a day since Samuel Clemens died 21 Apr 1910. The previous page is dated 21 Apr and the page after dated 22 Apr. Samuel's brother Orion died 11 Dec 1897 Keobuk, Lee, IA. Brother Henry died 20 Jun 1858 Hannibal,Marion, MO. Sister Pamela Ann Moffett died 1 Sept 1904 Greenwich, Fairfield, CT.
