Seeking Clellands in the US and UK (or anywhere else)
Hello all:) My name's Amanda Clelland and I hail from Western Pennsylvania, daughter of Edward Clelland who is the son of William Weatherspoon Clelland.
My Grandfather was born and raised in Scotland, though I don't know all that much about him. I know that he had a large family (about 6 or 7 brothers and sisters) and that one of his nieces, Sadie, resides around Erie, Pennsylvania/Ohio area.
I was told that William Weatherspoon Clelland fought for Scotland in WWII and soon after moved to the US and to Western Pennsylvania where he worked as a coal miner for 30 some odd years, married a Helen Auvil from West Virgina and had my father, Edward, and an older daughter, Jane (now Jane Bankey).
I really have no knowledge of my anscetory, except for the fact that the one time I did meet my second-cousin Sadie (at my Grandmother Helen's funeral) she told me that we still had family back in Scotland.
If anyone has any information that might help, or if you think we may be related, please feel free to respond. I'd love to learn all I might be able to about my family.
