Thanks for your very prompt reply,Barbara !! You have opened up a new knowledge for me about our family as I never knew that Allan and his wife Olive had any children before his unhappy death at age 69 in Cornwall. Thus I had assumed (incorrectly) that since Allan was my only other male cousin except for William and Thomas, your husband could not have come from Frank's family So I am delighted that you have found me and that you have given me the start of details about Frank's family.

Yes I did meet Frank on a number of occasions: of course since they lived in India it was not until thay returned to England on his retirement after the war that we really got to know both he and Elsie and their two children Allan and Ann. We were never particularly close but I do remember Elsie being very kind to me and providing good things to eat whenever I was there !!

I am going to let my sister Audrey know about our letters to each other: she is still in Britain ( living in Lockton,Yorkshire with her husband Arnold Butler)and you should know that she is the real historian between the two of us (and had a 1st Class degree in History to back it up while my specialty was maths while there).

I left Britain in 1961 and went to Argentina to be Treasurer of Alcan Aluminum's subsidiary there. From there we moved to Canada in 1965, Switzerland in 1978 , Brazil in 1981 and back to Canada in 1985 when I became an Executive Vice President of Alcan. I retired in 1991 and we have been living here in Florida since that time. I am an avid golfer and we live on the second hole of our golf club with a beautiful view across the fairway ! Lucky !!!

I would like to suggest that we correspond directly by e-mail in future. My e-mail is "gclark7@cfl.rr.com" and if I read it correctly yours is " Brubra@ ntlworld.com". That way I can send you copies of the family history as attachments to an e-mail: I would also appreciate any knowledge ( beyond that which you gave me) on Allan's family and their offspring. Hope that is OK with you.

Thanks again for making this valuable connection

Gerald
