Bonnie Butler emailed me regarding my search for Jasper Newton Cantey's parents. She observed that there was a Jasper Newton Clegg. She didn't have further information, but I am wondering if a Clegg married a Cantey and therefore had a son named Jasper Newton Cantey born about 1851. I know this is not the usual topic, but this is my missing link and am hoping that there is a connection.
