Hi Lyn
Thanks for the information, as you are aware I am not genetically descended from the "Cleggs of Huncoat" but related by marriage. My great grand Aunt (Ann Pickup) married Richard. Unfortunately I have little evidence of them or their descendents, other than the birth of their daughter Minnie in 1900. I do not know where you live now, and although I spent my childhood 20 miles from Huncoat I know little of the town. I now live on the east coast of England some 150 miles from Huncoat. However I do intend to visit in the near future for a number of reasons; principally to visit the grave (sounds a bit morbid) of my great, great grandfather (Richard Clegg's father-in-law) in Huncoat Cemetary and also to do the "Huncoat Trail" a walk around Huncoat that passes both Spout House Farm and Childer's Green (earlier residence of the Cleggs) this trail and lots of interesting nuggets of information about Huncoat can be found on the folowwing website www.roychetham.co.uk/
Interesting fact to be going on with; Spout House Lane by the Farm was also known as Clegg's Lane.

Please let me know if you have any further information about Richard or if I can be of any firther help
Regards Stuart
