My ggrandmother was born around 1867 in TX, her name was Malinda (have also seen it spelled Milendia) Claig. I have no info about her parents except on the 1910 census in Ok. said her father was from Georgia and mother was from Ms. On her daughter Viola's death certificate they were living in Rhine, Ok. in 1933. In 1910 she and her husband M. Andrew Doran were living in Ok. with seven of their children, there may have been more. My mother's mother was one of those children (Viola) but she died when my mother was young,so I did not know any of her family. Living at home in 1910 were: Ella 24, Lizzie 21, Pert 18, Martha 14, Martin 9, Viola 8, and Syrene 6. Since most were girls it has been hard to tack down. We found Martin's daughter but have not gotten info from her. My grandmother Viola was born April 1, l902 in Montague Co. TX, she married George Washington Petit, they had Malinda Jane, Rachel, Ruby Irene and Robert Andrew (she died after childbirth with Andrew Dec.1,1933). Would appreciate any info on this line of Claig.
