Drew, thank you very much for your reply! Louisa Falkner was Louisa Holloway and was not the first wife of James Falkner, or the mother of John. At a Faulkner reunion a year ago in Montgomery, Al I was told that John Faulkner's mother was a Clegg and that she died when John was small. James remarried and his second wife was Louisa Holloway of Edgefield, S.C. All the Faulkners at the reunion were from the children of James and Louisa Falkner. James's parents were John and Vicey Falkner of Edgefield, S.C. He had two brothers that I know of...Jefferson and Chestly. A sister, Mary. James and Louisa moved from Edgefield, S.C. to Pike county, Al in 1851 and lived there the rest of their lives. They had 7 or 8 more children born in Al and James left her to join the CSA sometime after 1862. He died in Pensacola, Fl from exposure and is buried there in Barrancas National Cemetery. My grandfather, Ira Thomas Faulkner, son of John in Al, discovered his grave. Ira Faulkner was the Assistant Post Master in Pensacola, Fl. He was the 13th child of John and Sarah Rotton Faulkner of Bullock (Pike) county, Al. Thanks for your help and good luck in your search! Phyllis Ponton Gee Notify Administrator about this message?
