Because Christian Clegg married and lived in Scotland she may have been part of a larger Clegg family in that area. As you I am sure are aware the Tartan for the Aberdeen area is a colorful District tartan. This is the one my family wears because of the presence of the Bray's (Brae) in that area (some time back). The Cleggs who came from Ireland to the colonies may have been part of the plantation to Ireland that King James began in the 1600's. Nearly all of those colonialists came from parts of Scotland.
