Hi Rochelle,
thanks for your interest.
My Charles John Cleary enlisted in the British military in 1846 and spent a short time at Madras. He got into a fight and was tried and sent to Tasmania for 7 years. His documentaion only mention a mother called Anne from Dublin.
In 1856 he married a Florence Henderson and had four children. Charles Hugh, Alexander Loftus, John, and Euen.
Florence suffered melancholia and was committed to an asylum where she stayed until her death in 1912. In the mean time, Charles John married my gr gr gr grandmother Hannah Peacock in 1884. They had one child, Justin born 1885.
Charles John died 1905 and Hannah died 1903 both in Launceston.
I hope this help as I would dearly love to go back further if possible.

Regards
Carole
