Reginald H. Walker married Louisa Hampton Weight on Nov 20, 1877, probably in Cooper County Missouri. Louisa died July 30, 1884 (aged about 24). Their first child Newton Walker was born in Booneville Missouri abt 1878. His second marriage was in September 1908 to Rose Cleary. She was born in Shelbyville Illinois abt 1879 to Thomas Cleary born on 20 May 1836 in Tipperary, Ireland and Mary Farrell born/baptized 12 February 1842 from Drumconrath, Meath, Ireland. Newton and Rose are buried in plot 253 Rogers Cemetery, Benton County Arkansas. Also buried in that plot is John T. Walker born 1913, died 1968.

I do not know the name of Newton's first wife. But I checked the US 1920 census recently and found a Reginald H Walker aged 15 was living with his grandparents Charles L. and Florence George in Boonville Township, Cooper, Missouri. The 1880 census records that Charles and Florence were living in Boonville and had a daughter named Roxie aged 5 years. She (or a younger sister born after 1880) may have been Newton's first wife. The SSDI records that a Reginald Walker born on February 13, 1904 died in August 1969 in Fayette, Howard, Missouri. I think that this is the Reginald mentioned in the 1920 census. So he may have been Newton's son from his first marriage to a daughter of the George family.

I also found a birth record for a third and unnamed child of Reginald H Walker and his wife Louisa Hampton Weight Walker. This male child was born on October 21, 1883. The record describes Reginald Walker as a farmer of Saline Township, Cooper County, Mo. It also says that he was born in Virginia and was aged 40 years when this child was born. Louisa was 22 years of age. So Reginald was born circa 1843.

Newton Walker's mother, Louisa Hampton Weight, is said to have been a descendant of the family of President George Washington and a cousin of General Wade Hampton, Confederate States Army. I wish to contact any relatives of the Walker / Cleary family as Rose Cleary was my grandmother's first cousin. Any information appreciated.
