I am a Clear from Brooklyn. My grandfather is about half a generation ahead of your Clears though. He was born in the 1890's and his children (my dad and aunt and uncle) were born in the twenties. They moved to Scarsdale from Brooklyn in the twenties.
My grandfather, Albert Francis Clear, had an older sister named Gladice who was probably born in the early 1890's or late 80's. They both grew up in Brooklyn. There are so few Clears around I have to believe your Clears were my Clears' cousins.
