My apologies if what I stated bothered you. I have no opinion whatsoever on which (or even if the origin was neither) was the origin of the name. I am just speculating based on other research that names were commonly just spelled phonetically by record recorders and at some point became adopted by various families differently. And the family origins may be common. That is one of the reasons why DNA studies are so important. Notify Administrator about this message?
