Sampson & Solomon Clayton, DeKelb, AL
The History of Methodism in Alabama has a note that there was a Methodist Church at Muddy Creek (near Brandon's Station) organized around 1836. Sampson Clayton and Solomon Clayton attended there.
Sampson Clayton and Solomon Clayton were the appraisers of my GGG-Grandfather's estate; his son, Rev. John Potter, was the executor. I'm curious if John Potter was associated with the Muddy Creek church.
Does anybody have any information on the Muddy Creek church, or the relationship between the Claytons and the Potters?
