Dear Bob Clayton: Thank you for your response. Since posting, I have located an entry re the marriage "intentions" of John Plumley and Susannah Clayton, Aug. 7, 1774, in "Vital Records of Grafton, MA" (1906). In "Vital Statistics of the Town of Keene, New Hampshire" (1905) their children are Joseph b. Oct. 28, 1774; Patty, b. ?; John b. Aug 22, 1777; Richard b. Feb.1, 1779; Sally b. Aug. 6, 1781. In same source Susannah d. Sept. 5, 1783. In "Shrewsbury, Vermont, Our Town As It Was" (1980) Plumley entry gives Susannah (1754-Sept. 5, 1783) but no other specifics. In same source Patty (or Lucy) is b. Aug. 27, 1776. John was Rev. War patriot under Col. Bellows' reg't. to reinforce the Northern Continental Army at Fort Ticonderoga-pvt. in NH militia. I am still seeking specific proofs re Susannah's birthplace and birthdate. My line continues through Richard Plumley who served in the War of 1812 and is buried near Pulaski, Oswego Co., NY. The next generation came to IL where I live. Hope to visit VT and John's grave this summer. Sharon Plumley Bittner
