My name is, Clifford Timpson, I have been conducting family research over the past 10 years, and have come to road block. The story is told, Mayrie (my 4th Great Grand-mother), was a mistress to a member of the Clayton family (possibly of a Clayton Plantation) originally located in Charleston, South Carolina. I am looking for documentation concerning the plantation, and information that she (and this so called slave master) parented three children; Robert, Sallie and Cecil Clayton, and Alex Clayton (from she Afro-American husband) prior to the Clayton’s moving into Georgia.
