Hi,

Anyone with a CLAYBOURN man who had children John, Richard and Sarah, and then died leaving a widow in the Halifax Co., NC area c1780?

I'm trying to identify the Mrs. CLAYBOURN or CARTER who was mentioned in the will of Joseph COTTON (written 1794, proved 1795 in Halifax Co., NC). Joseph referred to her as his "last wife" and mentions her children as "my 2 sons John and Richard, brothers of Sarah Claybourn Simmons and sons of my last wife" and also "John Carter son of my last wife".

I have info to share and am looking forward to finding another interested researcher with whom to compare notes.
