1782 and 1785 tax lists shown with seven (7) in his household.

Family tradition states he married an Indian woman named Jane.

Married: Jan. 13, 1840 in: Lawrence Co., KY
He served in the War of 1812. Jordan and his brothers and sisters moved to
Patrick Co., VA between 1796 and1806. He is the only Clay listed in the 1810
tax list of Patrick Co., VA. By 1820 he and brother Caleb were in Floyd Co.,
KY. In 1823 he is listed with his son John in the 1823 tax list of Pike Co.,
KY. In 1855 Jordan and his second wife, move to Wayne Co., Va where they
both die the following year.
