My father was Ross Gilliland Clay, born Calhoun County, AL. His father was William Edward Clay Born October 1839. He served as a Captain in the Confederate Army. My grandfather married Emma Cornelia Lawson. I have all information on my fathers brothers and sisters and many of their children. There was a Benson Clay from Huntsville, AL whom I suspect is a brother of my grandfather. He was serving in the House of Representatives when the Civil War broke out. His wife, Virginia, published a book entitled "A Belle of the 50s, Memoirs of Mrs. Clay of Alabama. My father had a brother named Benson also. My father was 55 when I was born hence I did not know to ask questions. I am now retired and am just beginning to get into genealogy so I have much to learn. Any information that you can supply me will be freatly appreciated. I will also share all information that I have. My email address is lclay1221@aol.com. My mailing address is P.O. Box 792, Duluth, GA 30096.

Eagerly awaiting a reply.
Thanks.
Libby Clay
