We may be researching the same lines.
The area sounds familar. My great,
grandmother was Frances Emily Clay.
She married Isaac M. York in Bartow
County. I do not know when or where
she was born, but I think she died in
the 1890's. I do not know where she is
buried. She left five little girls.
Isacc later remarried. The reason that I
think we are working on the same line is
that my grandmother once told me her mother's
maiden name was Cofer. I later found out for
sure that she was a Clay. I think that my
grandmother meant to say that her grandmother's maiden name was Cofer. We seem
to have some coincidences. I know that Frances Emily Clay had a brother named Henry.
I believe there was another brother too, but
I will have to look that up again. I have
pictures, some unidentified. Would you
like to compare notes? I surely would.
Nancy
