According to the records I have, the parents of Clement Comer Clay are William Clay and Rebecca Comer, who was the daughter of Samuel Comer. This comes from a copy of a document entitled, "The Georgia Branch of the Virginia Clays and Their Celebrated Cousins, With Harden and Jones Genealogies and Notes of Related Families," Written and Published by L.W. Rigsby. The chapter with the information about Clement is entitled, " Charles Clay and His Descendants Who Settled in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Missouri," By Frences Powell Otken. Here are a couple passages which may be of interest to you.
