Clays and Clarys in 1850 Sumter Co AL census

I am researching Leonidas Clary from Sumter Co., AL. I believe this record of Samuel H. Clay is really a common misspelling for Clary. I find Daniel A., Leonidas, and Robert Clary in the 1860 Sumter Co. census. Same birthplaces and same ages so I believe this is their family. If someone on this board knows for certain that the spelling of Clay is correct I would appreciate hearing from them.
