From my genealogy program, the children of James Brown Clay were:
James married Susanna Maria Jacob [144] [MRIN: 63] on 12 Oct 1843. Susanna was born on 17 Jan 1823,
died on 25 Feb 1905 in Fayette Co., KY at age 82, and was buried in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, KY.
They had ten children: Lucy Jacob, James Brown, John Cathcoat Johnston, Henry (Harry) Independence,
Lucretia Hart (Teetee), Thomas Jacob, Susan Maria, Charles Donald, George Hudson, and Nathaniel
Hart.
Lucy Jacob Clay [969] was born on 10 Aug 1844 and died on 7 Mar 1863 at age 18.
James Brown Clay Jr. [960] was born on 27 Jan 1846 and died on 7 Feb 1906 at age 60.
James married Eliza Ingles [961] [MRIN: 417] on 20 Jan 1880. Eliza was born on 31 Oct 1843 and died
on 11 Mar 1906 at age 62.
John Cathcoat Johnston Clay [962] was born on 23 Dec 1847 and died on 15 Sep 1872 in Lexington,
KY at age 24.
Henry (Harry) Independence Clay [963] was born on 17 Nov 1849 in Lisbon, Portugal and died on 22
Sep 1884 in Louisville, KY at age 34.

Smiths were both born in Kentucky as well as Maria and her parents. The Smiths are both listed as having
no occupation. Charles says he is a veteran of the "WW".
Charles married Mariah Hensley Pepper [1450] [MRIN: 610] on 8 Sep 1896 in Frankfort, KY. Mariah
was born in Apr 1861 in KY and died on 17 May 1939 in Lexington, KY at age 78. They had four children:
Robert Pepper, Charles Donald, Susan, and Elizabeth Starling.
George Hudson Clay [967] was born on 24 Oct 1858 in Lexington, KY and died on 26 Jun 1934 in
Lexington, KY at age 75.
Nathaniel Hart Clay [968] was born on 10 Apr 1861 and died on 17 May 1862 at age 1.
