I started researching Claybrook/e because in 1702 A JOHN CLAYBROOK/E got 150 ac for transporting 3ea people[Thomas, Alice and Margaret BUTLER/BUTTLER into King William Co., VA. I attempting for find where John Claybrook transported the Butlers from. I found some over in Amelia Co., VA and it appears to me many of the CLAY of AMELIA CO., VA and EARLY VA were CLAYBROOK/E and dropped the "BROOK/E" off their name. HAS ANYONE ELSE NOTED THIS<?> THE RECORDS FOR KING WILLIAM ARE ALMOST NON-EXISTANT...burned, burned, burned! So I am looking where they were not burned/destroyed and CLAYBROOK/E is a clue... AMELIA CO., WAS FIRST CHARLES CITY > PRINCE GEORGE> THEN AMELIA CO., VA.
