Suggest your ancestor may have come from Amey Clay, who married William Green. There were three Clay siblings (at this generation) who married Greens. Amelia Co., Va.; m/1, ca. 1731 William GREEN brother of Thos. and Eliz (Marston) Green and thus uncle to Lucy (above) and Martha (below) Green.
