What dates are your Frances or Frank? Since those are names in our Clays, I wonder if we could link up. I have very little info and I know they are very common names. My great grandmother was Fanny Mary (aka Frances Marie) Clay and she had at least one brother, named Frank, and used that name also for a son. Her mother was Mrs. F.M. Clay and we don't know whether the F.M. was her or her husband. My greatgrandmother was c. 1870s-1962, born Indian Territory, died Fort Worth TX. At least her mother was Indian, traditionally Cherokee. Her father, the Clay, possibly not.
