Sherry, I spent a great deal of time in Frederick, Md this summer researching Klay, Klee, Clay. I found two Adams. My grandfather is William Clay (Klay) B: March 14, 1811 D:Feb. 6, 1901. He married Caroline Keefer March 24, 1851. William's Father is Adam Klay, Jr. B: June 12, 1770: D: Dec. 12, 1856. Adam Klay, Jr. married : 1. Elizabeth Hardiger Jan.15, 1793. Witness were Ed Stuart (Stewart) and Anna (Susanna) Klee. 2. Adam Klay, Jr. married Sabina (last name unknown)and date of marriage is unknown. However, their first child, William was born in 1811 so the marriage may have taken place in 1810, Adam Klay, Jr's Father is Adam Klee, Sr., born ca: 1739 and he died ca: 1825. His wife's name was Eve (last name not mentioned). Adam and Eve had 10 children. George was named executor of his estate. George and his brother Samuel inherited the property. I tried to locate Adam, Sr.'s property but had no success. I was also unable to locate his grave. William is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Md. Adam, Jr. and Sabina are also buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery. I Would appreciate any additional information you may be able to send me.
