I have come into the possession of a King family Bible with several entries of Clay Births. The Kings orginally from NC to MO around 1840-50 in Crawford County, MO. William Manson King married Luncinda Clay in Crawford Co, MO. Her parents, Charles Clay & Luncinda MNU were living with them in 1860. Charles born July 14, 1789. it appears that Charles, as far as census records go,was born in VA. William's father Michael and his, I believe, is James.
The Bible is old, faded and hard to read but it was able to be transcribed with somewhat accuracy? The earliest record is Henry Clay, b Sept 3, 1711. a few entries:
Samull(sic) Clay b May 16, 1743
Charlie Clay b July 3, 1740
Mayton(sic) Clay Jan 4 1747
I believe that their is (33) Clay entries.
If you have a Clay/King connection I would be willing to share & EXCHANGE information.
