Hi Mary,
I'm not sure what connection the Clay's of Pike Co OH had to the Walls, but a cousin gave me some info that James Walls s/o Elias Walls wrote in a note book among the births and deaths of family members: "Susanna Clay departed this life October 26, 1837". There is the possibility that her maiden name was Layton, but I'm not sure. I don't know who she was, but thought that she may be related to the Walls family somehow,and 1837 is pretty early. I'm researching the Walls and they came from Delaware to West Virginia to Pike Co OH around 1800-1805. Linda
