Lucy Clay Thaxton died in Oglethorpe Co., GA, her will was processed 15 Nov 1825. William Thaxton's will was processed 22 Apr 1803, Halifax Co., VA.. In both wills daughter Martha DeGraffenried is named. Lucy's will is in Oglethorge County, GA , will book B, page 267. William's in "A History of Halifax County (VA)" by Wirt Johnson Carrington. Her will also names Charles Clay as her father.
