F. Emily, Frank S. and Henry Clay Photo

In an album that originated around 1850, I have some pictures from my grandmother from
Bartow County, Ga. Her mother was Frances
Emily Clay who married Isaac M. York. In
this album are tintypes and old cards.
On the back of one old postcard which I
would date between 1850-1876 (the date on
some other pictures in that album) is written
Frank S. and Henry Clay. To view ,go to http:
members.tripod.com/~jo_rogers/yphotos.html.
There may be other Clays on that page too since it was probably a York-Clay album.
See if anyone can recognize any of your family from the photos. If you do, please
e-mail me. The back of that picture could
have also read, Frank,Son of Henry Clay; or
it could have meant Frank S.(another surname)
and Henry Clay. Joann is putting up more
pictures soon. Some of them are from the
album and may be Clays. I think they were
from around Bartow or Cobb County, Ga. Please let me hear if you see a familiar face
and keep checking. I could be wrong on the
date. I am a novice at dating tintypes and
old pictures. However, there is more than one way to trace a family tree and some of
us might be able to use these pictures. Remember while the page says Yorks, they may
very well be Clays.
Thanks.
Nancy
