Dear Sandy: I was told by direct descendants of Henry Clay that Porter and Sophia had 6 children and that they were all deceased before 1848 according to letters from Porter to his brother Henry. THey lived in Clark County, Kentucky when some of their children were born. I haven't yet looked at Clark County records 1803 on (ie when they were married). I do know that one of the children was Eleanor Hart CLay, born abt 1803. ANd when Porter married his 2nd wife, ELizbeth Hardin in 1830, he listed himself as Porter Clay, Sr., so, there must have been a Porter Clay, jr.
Hope this is helpful, John Williams
