DAR ID Number: 101376 Born in Clark County, Mo. Wife of Hiram Selby. Descendant of John Clay, William Trego, and Samuel Kell, as follows: 1. Samuel Peyton Clay (1834-1914) m. 1857 Emily Kell (1837-1916). 2. John Ingram Clay (1790-1873) m. 2nd 1821 Patsy (Martha) Eldridge (1801-53); Benjamin Kell (1811-78) m. 1st 1832 Rouhamy Beckner (1809-45). [p.113] 3. John Cla****m. 1779 Patsy (Martha) Ingram; Samuel Kell, Jr. (1778-1823), m. 18**** Sarah Trego (1787-1823). 4. William Trego m. 1782 Betty Stubbs (1758-1825); Samuel Kell m. 1769 Elizabeth —. John Clay served as cadet in Capt. Samuel Hopkins' company, Virginia regiment. He was born, 1757, in Cumberland County, Va.; died in Bourbon County, Ky. William Trego (1754-1814) enlisted, 1776, as a private in Capt. Persifor Frazer's company, Col. Anthony Wayne's regiment, 4th battalion. He was born and died in Chester County, Pa. Also No. 75135. Samuel Kell served as private in Captain Through's company, Col. Patterson Bell's regiment, Pennsylvania Line. He died, after 1820, in Warren County, Ohio. Also No. 93937. I am related the Samuel Peyton Clay's wife, Emily. Two of Emily siblings married two of Samuel's siblings so the Kells and Clays and tightly connected from this generation.
