I, too, am a descendant of William Mitchell Clay. I have found that William was married more than once. He was supposedly married to Martha Runyan in 1725 in Henrico Co. VA. Then he was married to Martha Green about 1735. This there is some debate over though.He was married to Martha Anne Lewis about 1752. And then a lady named Agnes sometime before Sept. 1768.
