Hello Bill Clawson,
I have a grandfather that also moved around alot, his name is also William Henry Bryant, Atterbury, Clawson.
William has at least two birth dates that I have found.
#1- Nov. 3, 1868 IN. #2- March 23, 1870 MI.
He married Edith Margaret Clawson Aug. 25, 1895 in upland IN. They had 8 ch. but before this, he was on the run, here is what I have found so far.
His mother looked for him for over 20 years, when my cousin John, was going through grandma's things, after she died in 1951, he sent me a letter, also a post card, it was from his mother.(William) It looks like he was born March 23, 1870, as William Henry Atterbury, changed it to Bryant or Clawson, b Nov 3 , 1868, some time later he met grandma, at this time he was Bryant, they married, they were from IN, IL.to CA.
I am trying to fill in the lost years, do you have your grandfather's parents name? I am also trying to locate Edith's siblings, 12 of them. Her father was John Clawson b 1855,IN. Her mother Sarah E. Smith b Mar 30, 1854 Clinton Co. OH.
