John Clawson was born Feb 1 1844 to Moses and Joanah Bake Clawson. He was one of 13 children. Moses was the son of Josiah and Sophia Luce Clawson. Josiah was the son of Gerrit and Mary (?) Klaussen most likely from Holland but have found links to Prussia and Scottland. If they are from Holland there should be some sort of trail for them through New York. Most of the immigrants from Holland settled in what was in what was called New Amsterdam. Brooklyn was one of the original Dutch cities and I'm pretty sure the entire Statton Island area was too.

I'm sending you what information I can convince my computer to send.
