CLAWSON'S OF JOLLYTOWN, PA 1700'S
Posted by: Candace (Clawson) Spence Date: December 05, 1998 at 20:47:45

Does anyone have ANY provable information on Garrett and Mary Clawson of Jollytown, Greene County, Pennsylvania? During their time it was near the western edge of Monongalia County, District of West Augusta, Virginia.

Their children: Peter b apx 1758 d Aug 1836, Garret Jr. b 12-25-1759 d August 14 1830, Mary b apx 1762 d 1822, John b apx 1764, Thomas b August 12, 1768 d. September 18, 1836, and Josiah b May 14 1775 d. June 14, 1827

I am looking for marriages, children military records. No presumptions please. I've been stuck between this generation and the next for 5 years. I'm looking for a positive link. I am a descendant from the Clawson's that settled in Indiana after leaving Ohio. They got to Ohio from Pennsylvania.

Old stories in the family are that we are Pennsylvania Dutch. Research I have done does not agree with what the family believes this to mean. Can anyone help?
