There was a Jacob Clawson born around that time in Virginia. His father would have been John Clawson, who died in 1810. His mother would have been Massey Marsh. Jacob lived in South Carolina where another brother, Dr. William Clawson lived. Another brother, Isreal was a representative to the U.S. Congress from New Jersey. One brother John, born in 1755, served in the Revolutionary War. He died in 1835 in Kentucky. A final brother Isaac died in 1823, in Virginia. There were also four sisters Rachel, Anne, Experience and Margaret. William, Jacob and Isreal wrote back and forth for many years after Isaac died. I have transcripts of their letters.
