My husbands 3rd grandfather, Luther Closson was born in Luzerne Co. Pennsylvania about 1806. Luther's father, Jacob was born in New Jersey, but his brothers and sisters were from Pennsylvania. Jacob's fathers name was Richard. It is believed his family came from Vermont, but I can't make the link. There is a book compiled containing the descendants of Richard Closson and Charity. ( Richard's first child was named John) Would like to hear from you and see if we can make a Closson/Clawson connection
