I've gotten back to John Clawson, b. 1754, will probated in 1814 in Berkeley Co., VA (now WV). At least 3 Clawsons owned land in this county in late 1700's: John, Richard, and Garrett. John and Richard were definitely brothers. They also lived in PA. I have learned that area changed names (ie. parts of PA and VA became WV, etc.) So, I looked for a long time only in PA, then found documentation in WV. I have data that ties this bunch to NJ, NY, SC, IL, OH and UT. I'll be glad to exchange info with anyone researching these lines.
