Elizabeth (Clawson) and James W. Kelly's daughter (her name escapes me as I type this) and her husband Abram Vause are buried in the Vause family cemetery. The cemetery is abandonded, located on IP property, and could very well have contained graves of earlier family members, such as Abraham and wife Catherine. I, too, believe the family originated probably in the Netherlands, but I haven't given up hope that Abraham left the fold in PA just prior to or early in the RW. Abraham shows up as an adult in the Natchez Territory as early as 1791. One should not base genealogy on Christian names in the family, but they do sometimes give clues to relationships. In PA, primarily Greene County, by 1790 is a Garrett, Jr. Many other Clawsons are in the PA censuses. Garrett isn't a common name, and just maybe this is Abraham's cousin or nephew. Or, Abraham could have been a "missing" son of Garrett, Sr.(b. 1730). Abraham's first child was b. abt 1792 in MS, so Abraham could have been born in 1772 or even a couple of years earlier.
