Hi Rich!
One thing for sure, DNA does not lie. There is a complete
match between the New jersey Clawsons and the ones from
Pennsyvania. Another DNA project showed a complete match
between the Garrett Lines and New Jersey Clawsons.

It's kind of funny that the Garrett the Dutchman story
was passed down for more than 150 years as well as the
Scottish legend in Pennsyvania. But surely our fore-
fathers knew the real name of their ancestor in 1740
Thomas The Famous Rioter.

Concerning Thomas Clawson of Allen -Putman County and
his son Frederick I see they have some of the same
associates as Peter and his brother Thomas Clawson
in Dayton. That is the Sunderlands and Russells. Also,
both these Clawson lines had property and had marriages
in Shelby County. This would suggest that they were not just cousins but close friends as well.

I have little doubt that Josiah son of the Famous Rioter
Thomas is the father of the Pennsyvania Clawsons. Why
wouldn't his children go to Ohio?

Is the Peter, John, Garrett clan from John of Berkeley?

This is all so new that I can hear those saying show me
the proof. You know these old legends die hard. And
many believed that Josiah never went west. So, can this
be proven with DNA or records?
