With your help and John's I may be getting closer here but, I think I'm pretty sure I'm not of of the Thomas Clawson (son of Gerritt) line, though some of his children's children wound up in Iowa, that's (Iowa) the area where I think I need to be going. I'm looking for a Josiah Clawson (1829-1919) who married Frances Mink (da. of Phillip Mink and Mary Weaver) and had 8 children. Though my Uncle had information that suggests Josiah was the son of Thomas (1802-1872)there's little to support that this Thomas was wed to Julie Ives, but rather Elizabeth and none of their children were named Josiah. So, among the list of names of grandchildren to Gerritt(1) or Thomas (2), do you see a Josiah born about 1829, married to a Frances Mink and having 8 children named:
Thomas Earl
William
Phillip
Marshall
Myrtle
Clara
Edna - June 20, 1876 my great-grandmother.
Julia

Thank you
