I am trying to research my great grandfather Charles Clawson. I have a death certificate that says he was born in Puxa------ Penn----- (Yeah good abreviations) I think it may be Punxsutawney. His birth is 4/2/1867. He died in Willow Springs MO on 4/2/1919. My Grandfather was 3 when he died and his mother died shorlty after so we don't have much info on the Charles Clawson. I know he lived in Tenn. before Missouri and he had land in Dryer County Tenn. His death Cert. says his mother and Father were born in Penn. It gives no first names. Listed for mothers last name appears to be Twekes or Tuekes or something It is hard to make out. If anyone knows more I would appreciate help. I have been told that it was "tradition for the first born sons to always be named Charles." His kids in order were Geneva, Charles A., Samuel, Virgina, and Austin. Samuel was my Grandfather and he also died when my father was very young.
