My father, Oakley Harry Clawson, Jr., had been receiving royalties from the sale of a "farm" years ago up to and until his death in 1995! Oakley was the son of Oakley Sr (married to Wavia Elinor Baughman from Clearfield Cty, PA). Oakley, Sr's father was Adam David Clawson who married a Rachal Ann Brown. Adam from Indiana Cty PA, Rachel from Clearfield Cty PA. They resided in Punxsutawney, PA upon their marriage in 1880 where they both died! Who had such a wealth that would pass down "royalties" up until 1995! Adam David Clawson's parents were Jonathan and Mary McQuown Clawson. Rachel's parents (from death certificate) were: David and Anna White Brown. Have not been able to "connect" any of the above names to any great amount of wealth in previous years that would warrant "royalties" being paid up until 1995! Unfortunately, Oakley, Jr's. second wife's family handled any of these important "papers"! From my research, I do NOT believe that Jonathan was part of the Mathias Clawson family who owned a great deal of land east of the Mahoning Creek in Punxsutawney, PA! Could be very wrong! Just have not been able to make a connection between the two Clawson's! Jonathan and Mary McQuown Clawson moved from Indiana Cty to Jefferson Cty somewhere between 1860 and 1870! Census data has proved this much plus death certificates. Any help here would be appreciated!
