To be totally honest, I am grasping at straws trying to connect Peter Clawson Born approximately 1801 in Montgomery County, Ohio (married to Sarah Iford 1823 in Montgomery County, Ohio) to a father. Peter's son Vine had a son named Vine that settled in Cass County in the town of New Waverly. The elder Vine died of Malaria shortly after joining up and "marching off" during the Civil War. Vine Jr. was raised by his grandparents and one of his uncles (my ggg grandfather). Vine Jr. appears on Cass County census records with his last named spelled Closson and also Clausen. He had three daughters, two of which married, and the brick wall starts there.
One of Peter and Sarah's other children, Cecilia Fidelia Clawson born apx 1839 first married Allen Shipley, then married Lewis C. Sinks. Cecilia and Lewis Sinks ended up in Northern Carroll County, Cass County and Howard County. (I actually am related "back" to them three generations later on my mother's side through marriage too).
I live in Carroll County, Indiana and get to Cass County and Fulton County quite often. The Cass County Historical Society has some really strange business hours and it's hard to get in there to do research, but if there is anything I can help you with, please feel free to contact me.
