Grandfather = Charles CLAUSE (b. November 16, 1906, LA) Great Grandfather = Nichols CLAUSE (b. December 21, 1880, LA) G-Great Grandfather = Alexandre CLAUSE (b. November 17, 1852, LA) G-G-Grandfather = Alexandre CLAUSE/CLOSE (b.October 16, 1825,LA) G-G-G-Grandfather = John/Johann/Jean CLOSE/CLAUSE/CLOS/KLOSE (any spelling)(KY>LA) (He may have migrated to KY for elsewhere) G-G-G-G-Grandfather = Jacob CLOSE/CLAUSE/CLOS (any Spelling) (???>KY> possibly to Port Barre, LA) Jacob may have married to Jeanne PARRA (we are not sure that is the correct spelling of her last name) John may have been acquainted with Daniel BOONE (b. 1751 in N.C.) (a nephew of the famous Daniel BOONE) who married in St. Landry Parish, LA, (1) Marie Rose BENOIT in 1800 and after her death, married (2) Anne BOUDREAUX in 1801 and he was aquainted with John (C.) CLAY (possibly KLEE/KLEH). John (C.) Clay (b. ca. 1796) married Adelaide Coulon Devilliers in Opelousas,St. Landry Parish, LA in 1839. He said he was from Virginia. I am looking for more leads on the origins of John/Johann/Jean and Jacob CLOSE/CLAUSE/CLOS/KLOSE/any spelling including the possibility of CLOUSE. [Louisiana was under French, then Spanish, then French rule and spelling changed accordingly]. My Grandfather, Charles CLAUSE believed the family to be of German extraction, but not from German Coast, Louisiana.
