CLAUNCH book exists
The book by Madison Love Claunch is on
reference at the Seattle Public Library. It's 168 pps, of which I had copied only about 15.I seldom go to Seattle but will
within the next three weeks.Be patient, I'll copy the book, scan it at home, and send
to one of you with the means and willingness
to pass it on, or I'll download and let you
download it from me, whichever is feasible
for me.
For now, assuming the truth of the assertion
elsewhere that Jeremy (Hieronymous) glance/
Glantz came from the Palatine with two
brothers, George and John (if I remember it
right), I do not believe that the Jeremiah
Clontz who m. Sophia Erwin is either a
brother or a son of Hieronymous but rather a
son of one of Hieronymous' brothers.I'm
saying this now without producing any evidence merely to provoke some discussion, to see if anyone out there agrees with me.
Further, I think it likely that they were not
Glantz in the Palatine but Claunch, which
raises the possibility that they were also
Clonchet/Clonchi/Claunche and of more
problematic origin than simply "German."
