Dear Pam, Thank you so much for the article about your ancestor. I am very familiar with the things that John Sevier did in early Tennessee even though he was a good soldier in battle. He "hated" very well. I am interested in the Clarkston name because my ancestor, John Clarkston Keller of Greene Co., Tennessee, inherited that name and I am trying to learn why. His parents were Samuel Keller and wife, Rebecca Carter, dau of John Carter Jr.(1756-1845) of Greene County who was a soldier in the Revolutionary War in Monongahalia (WVA), western North Carolina and then in 1781 joined Capt. William Trimble under command of Col. John Sevier and marched to North Carolina. The Clarkston name is not known, at this time, to be in the Keller or Carter family lines.
