I think I have most of the same info on JMC as everyone else has. His son, James Lee, was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, stationed at Ft. Decatur, AL. He died there either as a soldier or perhaps a prisoner. The Clarkson lineage I am tracing stops at GMC for now but I have done some research into a James Thomas Clarkson (ton) b. abt. 1700 - located in area of what is now Fort A. P. Hill, Virginia (Prince George Co.) - may well be the father of GMC but I have no authentication - not even by going to the DAR Library, Census Bureau and Military Archives in DC. GMC is listed in all those fabulous places and his son James is in Military Archives. (I have a brother who lives in Bethesda, MD. and his wife works in The Smithsonian Castle - so researching up there is easy via email.)

The direct Clarkson lineage that I am working on contains Samuel C. Clarkson, b. 1827. Have old pictures of this Clarkson and his family.

Keep searching.
